Well, that was easy…

Well I just imported my Tumblr blog into my WordPress blog.

I tried two methods, one was http://www.tumblr2wordpress.com, which failed to import the posts, and besides that, it corrupted my installation to the point where I would get the following error: “You are not allowed to edit this post”.

So, after several hours of digging around in the Google mine, I found this: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/you-are-not-allowed-to-edit-this-post-1?replies=23

More specifically, if you don’t want your WordPress installation corrupted, then use this tool instead of the recommended tool: http://www.tumblr2wp.com/

There’s no way to fix it apparently once it’s been corrupted, so you have to reinstall, run the tool, and then import the XML file using the WordPress blog importer.

I’m pleased with my new WordPress blog despite the trouble, I’m going to be optimizing it as much as possible, CloudFlare sure has helped quite a bit.

As for the theme, I rather like this simple dark gray one, though I may stumble across a much better one in the life of my blog.

We’ll see!
