Macbuntu Installation

After a lengthy Ubuntu installation, I ran the following commands in the Terminal (ctrl+alt+t):

wget https://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/macbuntu/macbuntu-10.10/v2.3/Macbuntu-10.10.tar.gz -O /tmp/Macbuntu-10.10.tar.gz
tar xzvf /tmp/Macbuntu-10.10.tar.gz -C /tmp
cd /tmp/Macbuntu-10.10/
./install.sh

After it had finished and I restarted the machine, I was rewarded with a desktop that looked and functioned very similar to OS X. There was even a dock. My only complaint is that I can tell that it’s not really OS X, as the action menus don’t show up in the top bar and windows don’t minimize beside the trash can. Still, I was pleased with the results.

I followed a guide by Lifehacker (excellent site btw, check it out) which is located here: http://lifehacker.com/#!5665765/macbuntu-makes-your-linux-desktop-look-like-mac-os-x
